Goblin-Like
A small Roguelike with a Goblin protagonist.
You and a growing party of goblin explore an abandoned dwarven fortress, collecting items and experience points along the way. The final boss can be reached in a half hour, but your initial playthroughs will be considerably shorter. In the grand roguelike tradition, levels are different each time and death is permanent, but the game will auto-save if you need to close your browser; Come back any time to pick up where you left off. Just Remember:
- Rest after every fight.
- Treat your companions well.
- Kill mold before it gets out of hand.
- The best time to experiment with potions is when you're healthy and safe.
- When all is lost, throw your inventory at it!
Good luck and, if you have a good run, comment with the name of your goblin!

Excellent game so far! My only complaint is that I've yet to find an ally who chooses to use wands and I'm beginning to suspect that's because my character's Wisdom score is 3, even though I've now got a buddy with 10 wisdom. Maybe they are just rare, though; I've only a single goblin archer so far and they are definitely doing a lot of the team-carrying. Everybody else is melee. I like the tactics involved in this game and the way you have to manage morale. So far I've a level 9 goblin named Taikal on floor 5 of the dungeon with 5 buddies, but this first run is definitely taking a *lot* longer than the half-hour estimate, so I'm hoping the save feature works.
Ahoy Xyncht!
Your companions don't have AI for using Potions, Wands, or any other consumable items. This was done so that you, the player, could make strategic choices about when to use healing or tactical items (without your goblins drinking all your healing potions). Of the three wand types, only one is an attack wand - but it does make sense for goblins to use it for attacking. I'll see if I can include that in the next version of the game. Also, wands were added with the last update, and their balance is a little off. (they're everywhere!)
Goblin teams are best when balanced between ranged and melee, and I've thought about making sure the game always gives you a balanced party. I've decided not to because part of making a good Rogue-like is making each play different. Hopefully you'll find something equally challenging in each play-through. If it's less "challenging" and more "frustrating", let me know; I always work feedback into my updates.
If the save feature doesn't work, please let me know your Operating System, Browser, and Browser Version, and I'll make it work on your system.
There's a lot of variance in game times. Most new players will die very quickly, within maybe 2min. Some difficult play-throughs can last multiple sessions, as you've encountered. I'll update the description to communicate this variance.
Thanks for your feedback, and for trying out the game! I hope that Taikal and companions make it to the end of the game. I have some challenges waiting for them, but I always want to see my goblin succeed :D

An excellent rogue-like. Loved having an army of goblins following me around and helping to fight all the critters! Also, that lightning on the title screen is everything!
